Convo 4

On that Wednesday, I met with Guilherme again. And yes, I did wait until the last minute to finish these conversation partner meetings. That’s pretty much all my fault. I should have communicated a lot better and a lot more often with my previous conversation partner. But now I’m making up for it. I do intend to finish all of my meetings and blog posts by Thanksgiving (hopefully). Edit- that plan blew up. Planning on finishing these by tomorrow. Yay
So on Wednesday, we met in the Rec like we have done in the past. However, this time we decided to make it a little more fun by going to the Rec basement and playing Ping-Pong. It was definitely a nice change of pace from our usual sit down and chat thing that Guilherme and I have been doing. It definitely made the meeting more fun.
Now, ping pong is a pretty big deal in my family, especially my youngest brother Marshall. When I come home from school in the summer, he asks me almost every day (and usually multiple times each day) to play ping pong with him. We have an outdoor ping pong table in our backyard by our pool, so I usually agree to play ping pong as long as we take breaks to go swimming. Marshall is pretty good at ping pong, so he definitely keeps me in pretty good form.
So we started playing, but it was clear that he didn’t play a lot of ping pong in his spare time, so I decided not to play super hard. We just hit it back and forth. It was nice to have something else to do while we were talking.
We continued our discussion about books and movies from our last conversation, but we also added in video games. We also talked a lot more about the Star Wars franchise, particularly about what we think will happen with Disney in charge. Personally, I have faith that Disney will do the franchise justice. I’m not expecting anything mind-blowing or spectacular, but I think they have a good chance to do well. I think Guilherme was a little more skeptical than me, but I don’t think he’d be surprised if the new Star Wars movie did well either.

Ok, that’s about all for now. I’ll post about another meeting that we had that Friday in a little bit.
